Terms of Service
Incomplete policy — not final. The operator checklist and final eligibility/contract terms remain unconfirmed. Reviewed 8 October 2026.
Who provides QR Relay
QR Relay is operated by an Irish sole trader. See the outstanding operator-information checklist. Contact qrrelay@gmail.com. See Contact & Legal Information.
The service and your account
QR Relay lets a host scan QR codes in a browser and relay their content to authenticated viewers in temporary rooms. You need an account and a verified email to use protected room features. Keep your password private and provide accurate account details. A newer login takes over the account; older sessions lose access. Tabs sharing the same browser session can remain open.
Not yet confirmed: confirm minimum age, eligibility and any parental-consent process before launch.
Rooms and visibility
Public rooms may appear in discovery. Unlisted rooms can be reached using their URL. Private rooms require the relevant code/access mechanism. A room code or link is not a guarantee of confidentiality: only share it with intended participants. Host display names and public room details may be visible to others. Do not put personal or confidential information in room names or descriptions.
Rooms have a stated expiry and hosts may end them earlier. Leaving a room or closing a tab does not necessarily delete stored records. Room history is limited and QR Relay is not an archival or backup service.
Free and paid access
An account has one lifetime free unique QR open. Reopening an already-authorized event does not consume another free open, but the room must still be active and access rules still apply. Plus covers eligible opens across active rooms while its entitlement is active. A Room Pass covers only its specified active room. Host access and server-side authorization remain subject to room and account rules.
Read the Billing, Cancellation & Refunds Policy for prices, renewal, cancellation and consumer rights. A checkout return page alone does not prove payment or grant access.
Acceptable use
Do not share unlawful material, malware, phishing links, stolen credentials, content that infringes others’ rights, or personal information you are not entitled to disclose. Do not harass others, impersonate someone, enumerate room codes, circumvent payment or session controls, disrupt the service, or probe accounts without permission. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for material you relay.
QR links and third-party destinations
QR codes can lead to misleading or harmful destinations. QR Relay does not verify, endorse or guarantee the safety of links. Check the destination before opening it. Third-party websites have their own terms and privacy practices. Never enter credentials or make a payment solely because a QR code directs you to do so.
Availability, suspension and changes
The service depends on your device, camera permission, connectivity and third-party infrastructure. Interruptions may occur. We may restrict misuse or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security or legal compliance. Contact support if you believe access was restricted in error. Material changes to these terms or paid services should be notified before they take effect where required by law; statutory remedies remain available.
Content and responsibility
You retain your rights in content you relay and permit its processing and delivery as needed to operate your room. Receiving users may copy content once authorized; QR Relay cannot recall a link already received. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. We do not promise uninterrupted service, permanent storage or that third-party destinations are safe.
Complaints and applicable law
Email support with a description of the problem, without passwords, card details or secret QR content. These draft terms are intended for an Irish operator. Any choice of Irish law must preserve mandatory consumer protections and access to courts available in your country. Not yet confirmed: confirm final governing-law, complaints and dispute-resolution wording.
